Digital Badges
Digital badges are online validations of learning experiences in the form of a symbolic image with embedded metadata.
A digital badge’s metadata includes secure details about the badge’s criteria, evaluation process, and provides evidence
of the learner’s work. Digital badges let learners share verifiable records of their skills and competencies with individuals
via LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter, email and other social media networks as well as within online portfolios. Detailed
information will be listed on the Outline of Instruction. (If your class is not badged, delete this section.)
Responsibilities and Policies
Student Responsibilities: Students are expected to be familiar with Madison College policies and procedures.
Academic Integrity: Plagiarism, cheating and collusion are prohibited at Madison College. Plagiarism is defined as
passing of another person’s work as your own. Students who fail to observe these standards are subject to disciplinary
action. Madison College has a strong published policy on Academic Misconduct.
Withdrawal Policy: If a situation arises that prevents successful completion of this course, please note that it is each
student's responsibility to formally withdraw from this course. Students are responsible for all tuition and fees unless
they drop the class 24 hours prior to the class start date. Refunds will be issued in accordance with the WTCS Refund/
Reduction policy. If you do not officially drop a class, you will be billed for it even if you do not attend.
Attendance: Madison College does not have an attendance requirement. Insert your own guideline if one is used.

Class Participation: Madison College does not have a participation requirement. Insert requirements related to
classroom or online discussions, group work, projects or other requirements.

format, such as .docx. Please name your file in the following way, with the assignment name, your last name, and the
course name. “Paper 1 Smith Accounting 101” is an example.
Student Email: Madison College offers a student e-mail account for all students. You are responsible for monitoring
your student e-mail account.
