Description
These optional resources are
designed to help prepare
students for the 2013-14 TCAP
Writing Assessment, allow
students an opportunity to
practice writing to sources,
and to help prepare students
for the content and online
format of the PARCC
assessment.
The units provide connected
lessons that cover multiple
standards in ELA and science,
focusing on teaching
kindergarten through third
grade students to read closely
and critically in order to
comprehend complex
informational text.
 K-1: Life Cycles
 Grades 2-3: Storms
These close reading tasks were
designed by Tennessee
teachers and focus on the key
instructional shifts for the
Common Core State Standards
for English Language Arts.
Short videos and learning
segments that highlight
Common Core-aligned
instruction in print concepts,
fluency, phonological
awareness, and speaking and
listening.
