Rational – The main concept of this lesson will be for the student’s to able
introduced to play writing and the use of imagination. Students will be able to
identify irregular plural nouns, and to correctly change any spelling needed.

Goals and Objectives
a. Instructional Goals:
Students will listen be able to apply structural analysis that will include
context clues and decoding.

techniques legibility, uniformity in all written work.

composition (e.g., spell commonly misspelled words from appropriate
grade level lists, use syllable constructions to spell words, use vowel
combinations for correct spelling, use affixes).
v. RLA.O.4.2.2 - develop and apply the proper structure for simple and
compound sentences.
vi. RLA.O.4.1.1- identify and practice appropriate vocabulary: meaningful
words, synonyms, antonyms, homonyms, content area vocabulary, context
clues.
Procedure

WEEK 7
a. Lesson Introduction First we will have a review of using intonation while
reading, following along with the story, using clues given by the narrator to know
how to react in the story.
b. Lesson Development – As a whole group we will read the story while reading the
story divided into characters. Students will have a quick discussion about the
story I will include question that are similar from the test. After the story is
complete we will review the vocabulary words quickly. (35 min) Next we will get
out our spelling worksheet page (___) and (__) and we will review the first few
together. Then students will complete both sides and will be able to use their
planner with their word list. (20 min.). After completing spelling worksheet, we
will have a whole group discussion on irregular plural nouns. We will do a few
examples together, and then students will complete worksheet ___ from their
workbooks.
c. Lesson Closure – we will have a quick review of story information, vocabulary
words, and spelling / irregular plural nouns.
d. Lesson Contingency – students can complete vocabulary cards with word, part of
speech and meaning.
e. Pacing Guide – 90 minutes

I will walk around and observe the students completing work.
Students will be called upon to answer questions out loud.
Students will be graded on work completed and returned to me.

b. Lesson Development –I will have the students to play the game of sparkle, this
will give the students any last practice that is needed before taking their spelling
test. After completed we will read the story on last time again before taking the
reading quiz.
c. Lesson Closure – we will have a quick review of story information, vocabulary
words, and spelling / irregular plural nouns.
d. Lesson Contingency – students can play on first in math in the computer lab
upon completing both quizzes.
e. Pacing Guide – 90 minutes
