4. EHSO online course training:
Go to: https://elmprod.emory.edu
a. Search Catalog and Enroll in
- Research Laboratory Safety (240150)
- Biosafety (240120)
- BBP training (240100)
b. Read the materials and take the assessment to get a passing grade
c. Print out: the "grade" page with your grade % on it

6. CITI program:
Go to: http://www.iacuc.emory.edu/training/web-training.html
a. Register and finish the following modules and assessments to get a passing grade:
i. Working with the IACUC
ii. Introduction of Mice
iii. Introduction of Rats
iv. Aseptic Technique for Rodent Survival Surgery
v. Pain Recognition and Alleviation in Laboratory Animals
vi. Post-Procedure Care of Mice and Rats in Research
b. Print out: Completion Reports
7. Basic Technique Training and Pre-Activity Requirements (3 weeks training):

Basic: Lab maintenance, qRT-PCR (including RNA extraction, cDNA synthesis, PCR), FACS, genotyping
Optional: histology (sample prep and cryostat, Immunohistochemistry, Immunocytochemistry), confocal
microscopy, animal handling and surgery, cell culture, protein work: Western blots and Immunoprecipitation
8. Shadowing (2 weeks) Potential Mentors
9. Assignment to a mentor (Postdoctoral fellow or lab member) and a project
