Join us for a clinic with Richard Lamb! September 4, 5 & 6th Cheyenne, Wyoming Sponsored by Great Plains Pony Club Richard Lamb For over 35 years, Richard Lamb has been training, riding, competing, coaching and conducting clinics, working with all levels of young riders as well as adult riders. Some of his students have been competing at the CCI 2* , CCI 3* and CCI 4*levels. Richard is certified at Level III in the USEA Instructor Certification Program (ICP). He is a National Examiner of the US Pony Clubs. Since 2002, he also has served as the Chef d’Equipe and/or the Coach of the US Pony Club Team at the USEF National Pony Jumper Championships where they have won Team and Individual Medals. In 2014 the Pony Club team won the Gold Medal in both the Team and Individual Competitions. And he has for many years successfully prepared and coached many riders for the Jumper, Equitation and Hunter divisions at USEF Horse Shows. Richard also has extensive experience as a Show Jumping Course Designer for Eventing and Jumper Competitions, building courses for eventing competitions such as The Foxhall Cup CCI*** (’00 – ’05), the Jackson Hole Horse Trials in Jackson, WY, and for The USPC Championships for over 20 years. He also helped develop the Georgia International Horse Park and organize the Equestrian Competitions for the 1996 Atlanta Olympic Games in Conyers, GA, where he was Technical Coordinator for Show Jumping. And in 2012 Richard traveled to London where he coached members of the US Olympic Modern Pentathlon (MP)Team in the Riding Event. Philosophy: Emphasis on Balance Richard’s teaching focuses on the classical basics of rhythm, relaxation and balance, and believes strongly that our control of these concepts directly correlates with our training and performing success - whether we are beginning or advanced riders. Our horses are only as balanced as we are.... No matter what hat we are wearing or what saddle we are sitting in, our ‘self carriage’ determines our horses’ ‘self carriage’. Horses naturally want to move in balance and once we find the appropriate dynamic balance within our own body, our horses move more easily no matter what we ask of them. Richard helps riders learn to let go to use their aids and skills in order to move with and not against their horses on the flat and over fences. More information about Richard and his methods of instruction can be found on his website: http://www.ridinginbalance.com Clinic Format This clinic is open to any rider at any level and is appropriate for all riders.
