Welcome back to everyone following the summer break and we extend a special welcome to our new
nursery children and pupils in Primary 1 who have all settled in well.
We also extend a special welcome to Rhys Newton, P.6 and Mr Lamb, class teacher for P.5/6/7 this
session.
Over the summer, our Nursery room has been completely refurbished and we welcomed the children and
their parents back with a short opening ceremony on Monday morning. The extended room has been
fitted out with dedicated toilets for the children, a fully fitted kitchen area, new furniture, flooring,
window blinds and an interactive whiteboard. This wonderful new facility incorporates part of what was
the General Purpose room so the only downside is that we have lost some valuable space there.
The Nursery staff, Mrs Ganson, Mrs Ross and Mrs Sinclair are all in the Nursery on a daily basis.
Staffing
Mrs Grant Head teacher will normally be in Lybster School on a Tuesday, Thursday and Friday (pm).
At other times she can be contacted at Dunbeath School 731 286 or by email as below.
Classes as follows P1/2 -Mrs Moncrieff; P.2/3 -Mrs Morrison; P.4/5 -Miss Hitchcock; P.5/6/7-Mr Lamb.
Mr Martin, Additional Support teacher will be in school on Wednesday, Thursday & Friday.
Mrs Falconer, Clerical Assist is in school on Monday, Wednesday and Friday.
P.S.A.s (Pupil support assistants) - Miss Barton, Mrs Groat, Mrs Mackay and Mrs Smythe
Art or Technology - Mr Beaumont will be teaching all classes on a Wednesday.
Mrs Rae will be providing CCR, management and probationer cover on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
P.1-3 P.E. Mrs Aitken, who also teaches at Dunbeath, will be taking the P.1/2 and P.2/3 classes for P.E. on
a Monday afternoon. On Tuesday afternoons this term, Ross Suttar will be taking these classes for
football skills training sessions.
Ross will also be running lunchtime football sessions for pupils in P.4-7 on Tuesdays throughout
September. Spaces are limited and teachers will have the final decision on who takes part.
Childsmile consent forms and Flu immunisation letters have been issued this week. Please ensure that
the necessary returns are made as soon as possible.
RAG BAG please note the following changes for what we can and cannot accept in the RagBag bin.
What We Can Collect: Wearable Clothing – All fashions – All ages, Paired Shoes, Handbags, Belts
We Can No Longer Accept:- Workwear, Uniforms, Wet or Soiled Clothes, Curtains, Towels, Duvets or Covers,
Pillows or Cases, Blankets, Cushions, Table Cloths, Linens
