Common Questions about Unit 3/4 Accounting
1. I did Unit 1/2 Accounting. Will that help?
YES. A lot of the content that is covered in unit 1 and 2 is covered in a bit more
detail in unit 3 and 4. These items include Characteristics and Principles, the 4
Special Journals (Cash Receipts, Cash Payments, Sales and Purchases) and the
General Journal, Ledgers, Balance Day Adjustments, Balance Sheet and Income
Statement. Go over your Unit 2 exam and fix any errors.
2. How does Unit 3 and 4 accounting work?
 Unit 3 has two outcomes. For these two outcomes, there will be total of 4
SACs that will need to be completed. The final SAC will be a Mid-Year
Exam SAC.
 Unit 4 has two outcomes. For these two outcomes, there will be a total of
4 SACs that will need to be completed. The final SAC will be an End-ofYear SAC.
 There is an End of Year Examination covering both Unit 3 and 4 (no Midyear examination)
 Your score for Accounting is worked out through the marks for all SACs
(50%) and the End of Year Exam (50%).
 What equipment do I need?
To be successful in Accounting, you require:
 Cambridge Unit 3 and 4 Textbook (Third Edition)





Cambridge Unit 3 and 4 Workbook (Third Edition) (MUST be new)
Exercise book
Display Folder/s
Pens, pencils, highlighters, eraser
Basic or Scientific Calculator – No CAS or graphics calculators are permitted
in the exams, and are not permitted in SACs.
