MS/HS SECRETARY POSITION OPENING
Classified Position: In-District and Out-of-District Job Posting
Cusick School District is now accepting applications for a secretarial position at Cusick MS/HS.
Reports to:
District Administration
Terms of Employment: A minimum of four (4) hours up to a maximum seven (7) hours per day.
Up to 200 days per year
Salary: Classified Salary Schedule; based upon experience.
Qualifications:
1. Education and/or previous school experience preferred, minimum of High School Diploma (AA
degree preferred).
2. Willing to upgrade skills to meet the demands of advancing technology.
3. Knowledge of MS Office, desk top publishing, word processing and spread sheets.
4. Previous experience in preparing documentation for grant applications preferred.
5. Ability to manage computer software such as Skyward.
6. Successful experience working with families and the community.
7. Successful experience working with children in a school setting.
8. Ability to prioritize work load, take direction and meet deadlines.
9. Must possess strong interpersonal skills with a wide range of individuals.
10. Must possess exceptional organizational skills as well as excellent oral and written
communication skills.
11. Current first aid card holder and/or willing to acquire first aid training.
12. Must clear a WSP/FBI background check.
Responsibilities:
1. Skyward – Entry of all student information and records.
2. Skyward – Compile necessary information and generate reports as required.
3. Enroll students through the calendar year and provide monthly enrollment reports.
4. Insure the timely transmittal of student information, including transcripts and proof of
graduation to other entities as required.
5. Provide a welcoming office environment to students, parents, community and staff.
6. Work collaboratively with other office staff, teachers, and other school personnel.
7. Provide support to the HS Counselor as needed.
8. Answers telephone and screens calls; provides information or routes calls to appropriate staff
members; records and relays messages. Demonstrates sensitivity and caring with parents, students,
and staff members who may have concerns or complaints. Ensures accurate and timely follow-up to
all contacts.
9. Maintains confidentiality at all times.
10. Maintain student files following compliance regulations.
11. Compile and mail progress reports and student report cards.
12. Compose, design, format, and type correspondence, District newsletters, forms, memoranda, reports,
grants, and special projects information as requested; takes minutes at meetings as needed; ensures
completeness and accuracy of all documents.
13. Attends meetings and trainings as required.
14. Other duties as assigned.
Physical Demands
 The employee will work under deadlines and/or stressful situations; will experience constant
interruptions.
 Lifting of at least 50 pounds may be required. Bending and walking.
 Keyboarding endurance is a must.
 Visual concentration at computer is necessary.
Work Environment
 The employee must be able to work under pressure with frequent interruptions and varying noise levels.
 The employee will periodically be required to deal with distraught or angry parents and students.
 The employee must be able to be flexible and deal with a variety of situations.
 The employee will experience inflexible deadlines.
