August 19, 2014 Project Updates OWEB Small Grants 1) Waverly Meadows/Bonita Firs HOA; will obtain quotes from contractor for future maintenance work that HOA will pay. 2) Bonita Firs HOA: confirmed with contractor that he will schedule follow up spray/cut work through Sept 2014. 3) Murrayhill project: Working with Christian Haaning re: spray work, 2014-15 planting; signage for project developed (need to check to see if posted); 4) Quail Hollow West HOA: Need to schedule summer/fall 2014 work; contract crew will plant in fall 2014 & winter 2015 5) Varma Farm: Project manager Michael Carlson is working with landowner; spring planting has occurred. Obtained fall/winter plant order from Michael; need to determine plant source: CWS? NORP? SVN? Will do visit to site w/Michael, Ron Garst & landowner this fall. 6) June 7 HOA tour: Four HOAs participated – Windrose HOA; Metzger Park Condo Assn; Bella Terrace HOA (LO) & Peterkort Townhomes. Carla & April will do separate weekday evening presentation for several who couldn’t participate. Partnership with city of Lake Oswego, City of Tigard, TRWC & CWS. April finalized grant report and received reimbursement for grant expenses. Future tours: find a TRWC member or volunteer who has met Ride Connection requirements for driving small bus which would eliminate the cost for transportation. Other riparian planting projects 1) Pendleton Creek: Will check w/Jen Seamans re: need for infill planting in 2014-15. 2) Rippling Waters: Contractor continued with maintenance and site prep work. Future meeting w/TRWC restoration committee and Todd Winter, Wash Co Parks re: future vision for site. April will work with PU re: future English ivy removal work party. GC Restoration Action Planning; 1) April 24 pm meeting held for step 1 critical gaps; several items of info from partners in process of being delivered to consultant. 2) RFP for steps 2-4 received from Cascade Environmental with several partners. Will accept received proposal with work to be completed in Feb, 2015. Professional Services Agreement between TRWC & Cascade Environmental Group sent to Cascade for signature (8/18. 3) Committee wants to include Steve Trask in prioritization & project development steps which is fine with Cascade Environmental Group. Rapid Bio-Assessments 2013- 2014 1) 2014 work status: scope determined; modifications signed and in place; landowner contacts beginning now; GC snorkel survey dates began August 15. 2) Final report posted on website. Maps showing fish density and for website & GC Restoration Action Planning in process. Will set up future meeting for TRWC Restoration committee to meet with Steve Trask on questions. GC/ Sheelar Road Decommissioning 1) Cultural Resources review performed by BOR; next steps occurring. 2) Permitting application in process; Items needed: check for fee; project map; signature on application by landowner; finalized application. 3) Have requested rock donation from Farmington Rock & received confirmation of rock donation, but transportation not donated. 1 4) Stephen Cruise will take lead on Wash Co Permit for floodplain alteration; GC/Student Watershed Research Project (SWRP) SWRP will continue to be housed under PSU and in fall 2014 be under the direction of Patrick Edwards. BOR Modified Scope of Work: Modification signed 8/18/14. BOR Indirect Cost: 2013-15 Indirect Cost submitted and received back; rate of 7.87% obtained. Dairy-McKay Culvert Surveys 1) Review of RBA info of Dairy-McKay culvert info from 2013 RBA access database complete; this information will help focus 2014 survey work. 2) Jon Pampush expressed interest in project involvement; summer 2014 work (additional surveys) and report end of Dec 2014? Clear Creek LWD: Remaining tasks: Partner sign – awaiting ok on mock up – Sept 3; Summer/Fall Post Project RBA; Spring 2014 monitoring performed; grant completion due by Dec 2014. Capacity: Barney & Worth complete; Action Plan from 7/02/14 TRWC meeting received. Education 1) Display Board –discussed at 8/19/14 meeting; need additional & high quality photos to complete sections of what the Council does & what a Tualatin Basin resident can do. 2) Discussion re: updated brochure needed? 3) April has begun working on long term goals for interpretive signage and trail at upper Gales Creek Restoration site above GC campground by contacting ODF for future onsite meeting. Organizational: 1) Internal Audit –August 18 2) Coordinator will continue work on coordinator evaluation for 2013-14 3) August 19 scheduled for Washington County Commissioner presentation. Summer 2014 intern: Erin Poor, a recent PSU Environmental Management graduate, will be working on inventory of Tualatin Basin Partners for Clean Waters stream crossings signs as well as helping with other activities this summer. 2
