PURPOSE AND SCOPE Purpose of the EII program is to provide to the college age adults, an opportunity to engage and participate in providing learning and skill development support to the families in rural segment of India, and at the same time help gain understanding of the social, cultural, education, economic and environmental nuances of the rural region. Each has to be signed up for entire length and attend it to its entirety or lose the recognition certificate and deposit. 2. They need to be arriving at Ranchi airport on December 12th for 2015 and leaving Ranchi on December 23rd. 3. They need to submit us their travel itinerary 6 weeks in advance to facilitate their pickup and drop off. 4. They need to submit proof of visa to India with travel documents 5. Please carry copy of health insurance and provide emergency contact numbers and other needed information. 6. You will be responsible for travel expense to and from India up to Ranchi. 7. 500 $ deposit required once selection made and will be used for 10 days on ground expenses of room and board plus local travel during stay.(estimated cost 50$ per day). 8. You may plan to visit or stay longer in India after departure from Ranchi but we need to know in advance. 9. It will be winter in rural area with temperature at night as low as 50 F. 10. We need to be full sleeve shirt or top and pant or Kurta, socks and preferably sneakers in rural travel. Jackets need pockets with zipper as easy to lose phone or wallet from open pockets. 11. Travel light with suitcase size 25 inches or smaller and advice to carry backpack instead of a typical 21” roller bag, hence total 2 pieces are more convenient for travel. 12. You need to sign after reading a liability waiver and release and agree to INDEMNITY Ekal Vidyalaya and related programs. 13. Blue jeans are difficult to wash and dry in winter season. Field cloth are preferable and need to bring, towel, hand towel, pair of slipper bathroom tissue roll, wide mouth water bottle and limit pair of cloth to 4-5. Hooded jacket is preferable. Phone reception will be poor but we will have Internet in resource center (we stay there). 14. Student joining from Indian universities will need to make application and will require phone interview after essay submission and on selection 10000 rupees deposit will be required. Local transportation to arrive at Ranchi or at nearest train station called Chakradharpur, Zarhkhund ,on the date above and will provide all local transportation.
