BCS Recruitment Process – Associate & Classroom Teachers 2012-13 Steps Role Director of Talent Step 1: Initial Application Activities Resume Initial Screening Questions Cover Letter Request for references Director of Talent One-on-one in person (ideally) or by phone School Leader One-on-one in person (ideally) or by phone The school leader that conducts this interview becomes the point of contact for the candidate throughout the entire process until hire Candidates are assigned a School Leader at daily 15 min. check-in (via Recruit & Hire site) Step 2: First Round Screening Interview (20-30 mins) Step 3: Administrative Interview (45-60 mins) Step 4: Lesson Submission and Evaluation Step 5: Lesson Debrief Conversation Step 4A : Additional Lesson Submission or Observation Step 5: School Leaders (Associate Teachers will be evaluated on their abbreviated lesson during the School Visit) School Leader School Leader will contact candidate via phone and debrief the sample lesson they submitted or taught live School Leaders School Leaders might choose to request an additional video lesson submission OR School Leaders might choose to observe the candidate in their current classroom (contingent on geographic limitations) Candidate Candidate has the opportunity to talk with a current Brooke teacher matched according to subject area and/or grade level preference 90 Minutes B1 campus; 90 Minutes B2 campus o Morning Motivation o Classroom Observation o Teacher Panel o School leader follow-up Opportunity to Connect with current Brooke Teacher Step 6: School Visit Brooke 1 & 2 Classroom Teachers Candidate is invited to submit a video of a sample lesson Sample lesson video is viewed and evaluated Teacher Panel; School Leaders 3 hours 1 Brooke campus o Morning Motivation o Classroom Observation o Teacher Panel o Scenario-based Exercise o School leader follow-up School Leader contacts references Offer Extension School Leader; Director of Talent Offer Extension Send Contract/Offer Letter School Leaders will be able to extend an offer to one or multiple campuses Step 9: Candidate Associate Teachers Scenariobased Exercise Step 7: Reference Check Step 8: Candidate Accepts/Denies Candidate accepts/denies offer within one week of offer extension
