Birthdate shows 1843 on Tombstone but may be wrong. Age is given as 40 in 1880 census. I think he was born in 1839
and died at age 43 and not 39 born in 1843. 1870 census gives 28 years old born about 1841 Ireland. Dates on
tombstone were put on by his daughter Hazel Hickey Fekech. Born either 1839 or 1840 or 1843. In 1980 census shows
40 years old but tombstone shows 1843. Civil War Draft Record as of July 1, 1863 he is given as 21 years old.
Hickey clan from County Tipperary, Ireland. Traveled through County Cork.
1930 Census Mary Kelly Hickey states husband Michael born in Irish Free State and that she was born in PA.
A story says that the family came over when Michael was a babe in arms. The father died on the crossing and the
mother put the older children out with family and friends.
