Fall 2015
FMS Teachers Begin School with their own PBSIS launch:
2nd
FMS teachers enjoyed their PBSIS Staff Launch on September
with great
refreshments and some exciting “Minute to Win It” games. Mr. Porter and Mrs.
Bodner played the “Rug Scoot” game. Later, Mr. Johnson and Ms. J used their
stacking skills to stack apples, literally! Teachers even talked each other
through a blindfolded obstacle course. The winners received backpacks filled
with school supplies! Every staff member walked away with pencil cases filled
with much needed school supplies. WELCOME BACK EVERYONE!!
FMS Student Lounge is now open!!!
Where can a student go when they are done with lunch and they don’t want to
go outside or sit in the cafeteria? The FMS Student Lounge, that’s where! The
PBSIS program has an incentive for students to turn in their Knight Tokens and
receive a pass for a relaxing time in the Student Lounge. The room is painted
with our school’s blue and gold on the walls. So...what’s in the room? A pingpong table, foos-ball table, air hockey, chess/checker boards and games
and...three 50” Flat Screen TV’s with Wii games to play while sitting on four
comfy couches. Where else would a student want to spend their free time?
Previous Students have said the lounge is “epic”!

A WORD FROM THE FMS PARENT INVOLVEMENT COORDINATOR
It is my pleasure to serve as the FMS Parent Involvement Coordinator this school year. It was a pleasure working with you, our
PTSO, PBSIS Committee, and the community last school year. The parent involvement initiative has been implemented in
conjunction with our School Improvement Plan to create family partnership activities and programs that will enhance the
school climate and culture by building relationship between teachers and families. This year will be the launch of our “Parent
University”. Attached to this newsletter is the schedule of workshops for the year. Feel free to contact me in the Guidance
Office of Franklin Middle School should you have questions or recommendations for parent involvement activities. WE HOPE
TO SEE YOU AT EACH OF THE MONTHLY PRESENTATIONS. I can be reached at 732-249-6410 x 322 or qpeters@franklinboe.org.
