Purpose: The purpose of this consultancy is to further advance the UN and its partners’ understanding of the processes, systems and approaches that have worked and practices that could be replicated for strengthening the MRM. Please see Terms of Reference Qualification: I. Team Leader Essential 8-12 years or more of progressive experience of working in conflict and post conflict situation on the issues related to Human Rights, Protection, working in armed conflict situations. Strong report writing, analytical and presentation skills. Strong interpersonal skills and experience working with different UN organizations. Demonstrable knowledge of the MRM. Experience of working in conflict and post conflict situations Knowledge and previous experience of conducting operational research, particularly lessons learned and best practice studies. Willing to travel to countries affected by armed conflict. The Team leader will work with one researcher and provide leadership and guidance to the researcher. Desirable French spoken and written. Work experience in MRM implementing countries. II. Researcher Essential 3-5 years or more experience working and conducting research in conflict or post conflict situations on issues related to human rights, child protection and armed conflict. Strong analytical, research and drafting skills. Strong interviewing and interpersonal skills. Strong presentation skills and experience in preparation of reports in a highly professional format for publication. Desirable French spoken and written. Work experience with both a UN agency and the UN Secretariat.
