Fort Kent Police Department Full Time Police Officer The Fort Kent Police Department is aggressively seeking highly qualified and motivated individuals for the position of Police Officer. This application process will fill (one) Full Time position. Job requirements are: minimum age of 21 years old, High school diploma or equivalent and a valid Maine driver’s license at time of appointment; and an ability to successfully complete a structured hiring process. Qualified applicants will be required to pass an oral board and Background investigation. The (Full Time) position will require the Official certification as a full time officer from the Maine Criminal Justice Academy or the ability to successfully complete such certification. This certification requires the applicant to pass a physical readiness test, Medical, Psychological and Polygraph test. Part-time Per-Diem Dispatch We are also presently taking applications for Part-time Per-Diem Dispatch position. Provides communication and support services to the police, fire and ambulance departments. Inputs and accesses information automated law enforcement systems. Coordinates dispatching of emergency police, fire and other public safety equipment by receiving and transmitting radio calls. Receive requests for information regarding vehicle registration, driving records and warrants, and provides pertinent data. Inputs and retrieves computer data quickly. Types letters, forms and reports on computer keyboards. Processes emergency requests for service. Answers questions and provides information to the public over the telephone and in person. Maintains accurate, up-to-date files and logs. Relates effectively to those contacted in the course of work. Prepares reports as required. Uses good judgment in making decisions, in emergency and routine situations. Performs other duties as required. Public safety dispatchers work rotating shift assignments including weekends and holidays, and are assigned to work one of the shifts in a 24-hours period.
