The University of Florida College of Dentistry (UFCD) is seeking a Clinical Assistant/Associate Professor in
the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. UFCD is recognized as one of the leading dental schools
in the United States whose mission is to achieve excellence in the art and science of dentistry through
teaching, research, and service.
The UF Health Science Center is part of the comprehensive University of Florida campus, which offers rich
academic, educational and cultural opportunities, nationally-ranked sports teams and everything a large
university system has to offer. Students, faculty, staff and residents in the community represent a very
diverse, highly-educated population, who come to live, study and work from around the globe. The UFCD is
part of large academic health science center that also includes Shands HealthCare and Colleges of Medicine,
Nursing, Pharmacy, Public Health and Health Professions, and Veterinary Medicine. The university was
recently awarded a Clinical and Translational Science Award, and the college is ranked fifth of all US dental
schools in NIDCR research funding. The Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery (OMFS) has a strong
record of accomplishments in the basic sciences, clinical practice, includes the Center for Implant Dentistry,
and offers a nationally recognized four- and six-year residency training program in OMFS.
The faculty member will be appointed at the level of as Assistant/Associate Professor in the clinical track, and
will be responsible for teaching at the resident and pre-doctoral levels, participating in Faculty Practice and
research. The position requires a DDS, DMD or equivalent degree, and the successful applicant must be
board certified or board eligible in OMFS. MD degree is preferred. The candidate must have experience in
teaching, research and service related to OMFS in an academic setting. Candidate should have excellent
leadership, interpersonal, communication, and administrative skills along with clinical expertise in the full
scope of OMFS. Salary and rank are commensurate with credentials and experience.
