The position holder will support the Asset Strategy Manager to consult with planners across the Asset Management Division in order to understand their strategic issues and requirements, and then to make recommendations for the overall Asset Management Plan for ActewAGL which will reflect 5- and 20- year planning horizons. The position holder is also expected the guide development of 1–5 year rolling plans that underpin regulatory submissions, Asset Management Plans and other work streams; and also provide forecasting and system modelling expertise (as required) 1. Issued by: Release date: Revision No.: File location: Page: 1 of 4 Position Description DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Technical Consult with other Sections and Branches within Asset Management Division and develop an understanding of plausible asset strategies Assess strategic options and support development of the following: o Asset Strategies and long-term network strategic plans o Asset Management Plans for each asset class and coordinate them into overall plans covering capital and operating activities for all asset classes o 1–5 year rolling plans, that underpin regulatory submissions, Asset Management Plans and other work streams o Long term system planning o Asset management planning criteria and policies Maintain awareness of alternative sources of energy, demand growth and energy consumption trends and associated technical, economic and business trends Relationships / communications Pro-actively liaise with the other Asset Strategy and Planning engineers and other parties both within and outside the Organisation, as required, to ensure that all asset strategy and planning related objectives are understood Provide advice to the Program Development Branch on strategic priorities Act as a technical leader and mentor to the Asset Strategy Engineer and other more junior planning engineers across the Division Other duties within the employee's skill, competence and training KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS Primary costs ($ vs. budget) System Average Interruption Duration Index (SAIDI) - planned and unplanned System Average Interruption Frequency Index (SAIFI) - planned and unplanned Development of Network Asset Management Plan Development of Asset Strategies and Policies Detailed definitions of these KPIs can be found in the corresponding Measure Definition Document (MDD).
