Course description:
This introductory course gives an overview about the important terms and concepts of film analysis
thus providing the students with basic tools for the ongoing subjects in their film studies. From the
mise-en-scéne “ingredients” like cinematography, the frame and the shot to the narration and
editing it reveals film form and textuality highlighting their crucial building elements with the help
of film shots and sequences of classic and experimental works.
