PDP Individual Tutorial guidance (see the tutorial checklist)
→ At level 4 and 5, students will be expected to contact their personal tutor to arrange
an individual tutorial.
→ Tutorials will take place in weeks 3 and 11 of both semester one and two (a reminder
will be sent to students in weeks 2 and 10). The aim of these tutorials is to ensure
the student is happy, to check progress and ensure retention.
→ A tutorial spreadsheet has been created to ensure that appropriate support is given
(see the image below). It is up to tutors to amend the spreadsheet accordingly.
→ Attendance will be tracked at 2, 6 and 10. If a student is identified as ‘at risk’, tutors
will need to arrange tutorials at appropriate points throughout the semester
(suggested as week 7, 8 and 11).
→ If a student is identified as at risk, the suggested protocol is as follows;
1. Personal tutor email or phone call
2. Invitation to a personal tutor meeting
3. Invitation to a programme leader meeting where a red card may be issued.
→ Please ensure that students send a copy of their individual tutorial log. You may
need to remind them of this.
→ Level 6 individual tutorials are scheduled within the IS module.
