Summary Russian Specialised Texts (Year 2) Professor Anna Bonola Russian Language Practical Classes (Year 2) Dr. Anna Krasnikova 1 1 2 2 Russian Specialised Texts (Year 2) PROFESSOR ANNA BONOLA COURSE AIMS The course comprises 30 hours of theoretical lectures and 80 hours of practical classes (see Russian Language Practical Classes, Year 2, Dr. A. Krasnikova, below) and will illustrate the features of specialist Russian language in the fields of science, economics, bureaucracy/business, tourism and the media. COURSE CONTENT – Presentation of the morphosyntactic, lexical and textual features of specialist Russian language areas; – Comparison between Russian and Italian texts in different specialist language areas; – Terminology used in specialist language fields of Russian and relevant lexicographical tools. Attending students will find the Blackboard materials sufficient. TEACHING METHOD Lectures taught in the Russian language and listening to audio recordings plus several hours of practical classes using the Russian national corpus. Students must also attend the 10 hours of Russian language practical classes held by Dr. N. Stoyanova to maximize their practical application of the language. The timetable for the practical classes will be agreed with the students at the start of the course. ASSESSMENT METHOD Russian oral exam in which they will present their analysis of a number of different documents written in a specialist language area (for a total of 15-20 pages), chosen in agreement with the lecturer (the student must submit their proposal at least 2 weeks before the session in which they plan to sit the exam). This will be followed by a discussion about the methods used and outcome of their analysis. Russian Language Practical Classes (Year 2) DR. ANNA KRASNIKOVA COURSE AIMS The course of Russian Language Practical Classes supports the Russian Specialised Languages course of Professor Anna Bonola and has the objective of developing the student’s abilities to speak and write in Russian. COURSE CONTENT Students will listen to and read original works and prepare discourses to be delivered in both written and oral form. READING LIST The reading list will be communicated at the start of the course. TEACHING METHOD Practical classes in the classroom. ASSESSMENT METHOD Final written exam consisting of the production of a written text (600-1000 words), starting from the written or spoken cues given by the lecturer. The written exam is the same for all curricula and will be marked automatically. The exam lasts for 2 hours. The student may bring monolingual and bilingual dictionaries to the exam.
