OBJECTIVES: At the conclusion of this educational activity, the participant will be able to:
●Review the pathophysiology of asthma and emerging data on chronic inflammation, airway remodeling, and
bronchial hyperresponsiveness. ● Discuss evidence based strategies for classifying asthma severity, initiating
therapy, and achieving asthma control. ● Identify strategies to overcome barriers to care and improve outcomes in
patients with difficult to manage asthma.
TARGET AUDIENCE:
Members and Guests of the Palm Beach County Pediatric Society, Pediatric Dentists, pulmonologists, primary care
physicians, internal medicine physicians, physician assistants, nurses, respiratory therapists, and any healthcare provider
who treats pediatric patients with asthma.
