SCORING GUIDE
Project Requirements
Window treatments: either fabric samples or pictures of curtains,
blinds, shades, etc.
Wall treatments: paint samples, wallpaper samples, etc.
Flooring: carpet samples, magazine pictures of flooring, wood floor
or tile samples, picture of area rug
Sofa: fabric samples for sofa
Chairs: fabric samples for all three chairs

Lamp: magazine or internet picture of lamp OR fabric sample to
cover lamp shade
Room sketch is colored to match samples: including all colors,
textures and patterns
Entire page is neatly colored and shaded (no area of the room is
left uncolored, even white areas)
Room sketch is neat and attractive: if changes were made the
images that were re-drawn are to scale and from the correct
perspective/angle, the completed design has no white or sloppy
areas.
Must contain all required structures, furniture, and accessories.
Color Scheme is identified and matches the actual colors used in
the space
Color Scheme is well balanced and attractive. There are not equal
areas of the colors. There is a dominant color in the room or if
neutrals are used there is a variety in texture. The room is not
boring and one dimensional.
Student name is in lower right corner
Labels under each sample and correspond to the room sketch
Sample board is well balanced (symmetrical/asymmetrical)
Sample board is neat. Samples are trimmed evenly and placed so
they are easy to read. Writing is very neat or typed. Presentation
board is clean, no glue or smudges, etc.
