History A: The Making of the
Modern World Unit 1: International
Relations the era of the cold war
1943-1991 –Pupils will study the
breakdown of trust between the
USSR ( the Union of Soviet Socialist
Republics) and America following
their victory in the Second World
War. Pupils will learn how this led to
a division of Europe, how the
attitudes, personalities and
development of the atomic bomb
intensified the conflict to a point
where a nuclear holocaust almost
occurred.
Assessments and grading:

Pupils will sit a ½ termly cumulative assessment from EDEXCEL
exam papers based on the unit they are studying.
