Tomorrows Project Case and Activities Worker Job Description Job title: Tomorrows Project Case and Activities Worker Reports to: Tomorrows Project Coordinator Responsible for: Supporting the delivery of LD:NorthEast’s Big Lottery funded Tomorrows project, ensuring that people accessing support and activities receive high quality, value for money support in line with their expectations and the outcomes and conditions of the funding programme Overall function of the post To work as part of a team, delivering all activities relating to LD:NorthEast’s Big Lottery funded Tomorrows Project, providing high quality services for people accessing support and activities, adhering at all times to statutory requirements and LD:NorthEast policies and procedures, ensuring that: Activities are person centred and in line with funding requirements The quality of life of the people supported is maintained or improved and they are given full support to achieve the best possible outcomes, in line with the objectives of the project People supported by the project are able to access opportunities within their community on an equal basis to the rest of the population Opportunities are pursued to develop the project and services of LD:NorthEast Duties to include: Responsibility for the delivery of activities and support, aiming to continuously improve the service offered Provide a safe, happy and comfortable environment for activities and support for the people accessing support To actively promote a positive image of the project and of LD:NorthEast Reporting and record keeping ensuring data is recorded safely, effectively and in a timely manner. Develop and maintain constructive professional working relationships with colleagues (internally and externally) and partner stakeholders. Deputise for other colleagues across the organisation during periods of holidays and sickness absence, as directed by the Operations Manager / Tomorrows Coordinator. To support people who have a learning disability and are growing older to live satisfying and safe lives To work independently, supporting people who have a learning disability and are growing older, their families and carers, to develop (and signpost to) individual and group activities, social opportunities and recreational activities To support the target population, assisting when necessary, in their daily lives – in order to facilitate their independence and to provide them with social opportunities Ensure that quality audits and Health & Safety assessments are conducted as necessary Ensure effective risk assessment/personal safety procedures and protocols are in place to protect people supported by the project and volunteers, in accordance with LD:NorthEast policies and procedures and keep under regular review Monitor compliance to risk assessment procedures and report any discrepancies / concerns to line management Record and coordinate responses to compliments, comments, complaints with a view to improving the service Securely store and manage all relevant records and information relating to the project and its beneficiaries, working within agreed administration procedures Ensure that line management is fully informed of any issues which may effect the quality of service provision Attend, contribute and feed back into relevant parts of the organisation all relevant meetings and networks, both internally and externally Provide regular reports as and when required Responsibility to undertake training and development as required To assist, where appropriate and necessary, with the training and development of fellow employees Any other duties as appropriate and directed by the Operations Manager.
