AP Biology Biomes Travel Pamphlet
You are responsible for putting together a presentation to sell
location/ecotourism packages to tourists. You are to create a
booklet/pamphlet promoting specific biomes as assigned by your
instructor. It will be your job to promote these places as unique and
interesting while providing specific information regarding climate,
geology, location, information about flora and fauna, endangered
species and all items listed on the rubric.
All projects are due for presentation Monday, 24, 2014. You will spring
break to create a quality pamphlet (see samples) and present in an
appropriately themed costume.
Note: There are rubric points. You will either get credit for each point or
not when this project is evaluated. Rubric points not thoroughly
addressed will receive no credit. Each item listed will be worth 4 points,
unless otherwise indicated.

2. 6 or more pictures per biome. 6 points.
3. Correct spelling and grammar
4. 5 or more correctly cited sources - APA
5. Travel agent and agency name
6. Properly bound pamphlet – 2 sided. No staples or tape
7. Biome name clear

8. World Locations. Mark on a map. Must be included.
Business, Climate, Geology
9. Type of soils (if land) and/or the impact of human activities on these
soils. Salinity, if water and/or the impact of human activities on
salinity. Tides if applicable. 6 points.
10. Specific geological hazards and/or attractions.
11. Agricultural, chief industries and commerce in the region.
12. What is the climate like? Is there a best time of the year to visit?
Average annual temperature, seasonal temperature and
precipitation. 6 points.
13. What plants and animals will I see? (at least 6 plants and 6 animals)
Adaptations necessary to live in this environment. Producers? 6
points.
14. How does the climate impact the environment and the plant and
animal life?
15. Explanation of why this biome is located at this place on the
planet.

16. Two symbiotic relationships found in this biome.
17. A typical four step food chain found in this biome with the trophic
levels identified.
18. Specifics on threats to biodiversity associated with humans in this
biome. 6 points.
19. At least one endangered species found in this biome.
20. The main factors contributing to the endangered species.
21. What is being done to help the endangered species? (reserves,
parks, laws, etc)
22. Appropriate costume for presentation. Presents professionally.
