Dear Parent/Carer
Thank you to all the Parents who completed a Parent/Carer questionnaire,
151 responses were received and the outcomes can be found in this
Newsletter.
On Monday 1st December 2014 the Governors will be looking at these
outcomes and we will be celebrating all the positive responses. We will
also be looking at the ways you have suggested we could improve our
school and how these are incorporated into our school improvement plan.
You will find below an outline of the actions taken from
last year’s survey (2013) and the impact you have had as Parent/Carer on
our school.

Ensuring that all Pupils have their first choice of meal
options on the school dinner menu. We have liaised with
DNS, who provide our school meal service, and we now
have a wrist band system in place. Children are now able to
order their food in the morning.
To provide more rewards for pupils who follow our school
rules regularly and always attend school. We have
introduced The Assertive Mentoring Smilies system. All
staff carry around Smilies and pupils are rewarded these
for following our school rules and our five special words.
Good attendance is rewarded for those individuals who
stay in the green with 100% attendance. They all receive a
Pizza and DVD afternoon. This is very popular with the
children and a great incentive.
Tougher sanctions for pupils who break the school rules.
Linked to our Assertive Mentoring System we have
introduced a good to be green card system. Pupils who
receive a red warning are given a playtime detention.
Detention letters are colour coded green, yellow and red.
Those pupils in green at the end of the week receive
additional smilies and stickers.
To change playtime times to prevent KS1 pupils from being
knocked over by KS2 pupils. The school sought planning
permission to build an additional playground on the school
grounds. This has now been developed further to include a
role play area.

FOOTERS
To change the text at the very bottom of each page of your
newsletter, click Headers and Footers on the View menu.
Use the Header and Footer toolbar to open the footer, and
replace the sample text with your own text.
INSERT SYMBOL
It is a good idea to place a small symbol at the end of each
article to let the reader know that the article is finished and
will not continue onto another page. Position your cursor at
the end of the article, click Symbol on the Insert menu,
choose the symbol you want, and then click Insert.
BORDERS
You can use page borders and text box borders to change
the appearance of your newsletter. Borders on text boxes
help keep different articles separate, and can set off sidebar

border, select it, double click its edge and choose the
Colours and Lines tab in the Format Auto Shape dialogue
