Stanley Duong The Sumer is a civilization that was alive during the Neolithic Revolution. They lived in the region, which is now known today as, the Middle East. This civilization lived around the Tigris and Euphrates rivers, according to Sumer source one, Sumer has lasted about 1,000 years from 4,000 BCE- (around) 3,000 BCE. In Sumer source one it states that, “about a dozen cities rose in the area”, and then states that “80% of the people of Sumer lived in cities”. This relates to the criteria “large populated settlements”, because a city is a type of settlement and that most of the population lives in these cities. These city states have also, stated in Sumer source 3, either slowly began to grow or rapidly grew into “big, independent city-states”, so these places grew large in size and most likely population as well.
