PLEASE NOTE THAT YOU WILL NEED TO TURN IN BOTH THE
APPLICATION AND THE FEES TOGETHER BEFORE SIGNING UP FOR
ANY OF THE AS FIRM SOCIALS.
Firm socials are a privilege – not a right! Plan your midterms, papers, workload out on a
calendar. If you will be busy with school, class, other meetings, DO NOT SIGN UP FOR
THE SOCIAL! If you sign up for a social and make the attendance list, your attendance is
mandatory. If an emergency comes up (i.e. severe illness, death in the family), you must
contact Suki Kwan (VP of Activities; ASVpActivitiesUSC@gmail.com) ASAP and follow
the cancellation procedures below.
Cancellation Procedure
• Members must contact the current VP of Activities at least 3 days prior to the event.
• A valid reason for not being able to attend the event must be given, and approval
must be obtained from the VP of Activities.
• Members must then submit an apology letter addressed to the recruiter/firm along
with a stamped and addressed envelope within 24 hours of the missed social to the
Accounting Society mailbox #74.
• It is then the VP of Activities’ duty to find a replacement from the waiting list and
contact the firm to inform them of the changes.
Penalties
If a member misses a social without prior consent from the VP of Activities or does not
follow the appropriate cancellation procedure, they will be subject to the following
penalties:

The member will not be allowed to attend any firm socials for the rest of the
semester. If the member misses one of the last 3 socials of the semester, they will
then not be allowed to attend any firm socials in the following semester.
*Note that the lists of members who fail to follow appropriate cancellation
procedures will be shared between AS and BAP so joining another organization the
following semester will not permit you to attend firm socials the following semester.

potential employers.

Unacceptable Reasons
Please plan appropriately when signing up for the firm socials – the excuses above will not
be tolerated as reasons a member cannot attend a firm social that they signed up for.
Not only does your absence at firm socials reflect negatively on yourself and Accounting
Society, you are denying your peers and future coworkers the opportunity to meet and
network with firm professionals. Regardless of whether you are at a professional event or
not, you need to act responsibly and professionally by being accountable for your decisions
and actions.

Alternative payment method:
Venmo is now accepted as an alternative payment method. You could search
@USCAccountingSociety via the Venmo application. Please provide your Venmo name
below if you choose to use this method and pay accordingly.

Please submit your completed application and membership fee no later than
FRIDAY, JANUARY 29TH, 2016, to any AS officer. AS is not responsible for lost or
stolen applications and checks if not personally handed to an AS officer (you can also
put it inside the AS mailbox #74 in the Accounting Building).
FEE BILL POLICY
If your check bounces, a $30 fee will be assessed to your USC account. If you decide to stop
the payment on your check, we reserve the right to charge your USC account a withdrawal
fee of 75% of the appropriate membership fee.
