Dear Parent or Guardian,
Millington Middle School is planning an 8th Grade Week for your child. We are writing this letter to inform you of
the events that will be taking place that week. 8th Grade Week will be held May 18, 2015- May 21, 2015. Listed
below are the events that will be taking place.

May 18th: Six Flags St. Louis (Money for Six Flags is due by MARCH 2nd )
We will be traveling by charter bus to Six Flags St. Louis. The time for departure is to be determined. The
cost for this trip will be $40.00. This includes an admission ticket and a meal voucher. Any other expenses
including the meal on the way home, souvenirs and snacks will be up to the student. If your student
chooses to participate in this trip, they must also participate in the college trip as well. Our top
priority is exposing our students to opportunities to further their education beyond high school.

May 19th: College Road Trip (Money for the college trip is due by April 1st)
We will be traveling by charter bus to Middle Tennessee State University and Belmont College. Time for
departure will be determined. The cost for this trip will range from $10.00 - $35.00 (depending on amount
of donations from DonorsChoose.org to help cover the cost of buses). This cost includes bus cost and lunch.
Any other expenses will be up to the student.

May 20th: Field Day/ Cookout (Money for the field day is due by April 13th)
We will have field day events planned for the whole day. The cost for this will be $10.00. This cost includes
food and drink for the day and an 8th grade T-shirt.

May 21st: Graduation & Prom
The graduation will be held at Crosspoint Baptist Church @ 10:00am. The prom will be held that evening.
The location and time of the prom is to be determined. The prom will be sponsored by PTSA and parents.
We encourage your support on this.
We are extending these opportunities to all eighth graders; however there are guidelines that they must abide by
for the remainder of the school year. The following will eliminate your child from being able to participate in 8th
Grade Week:
 (1) Out of School Suspension
 (2) In School Suspensions
 (6) Detentions
 ANY debts for unpaid fundraiser items, lost library books, locks or textbooks
****NO REFUNDS WILL BE GIVEN IF YOUR CHILD LOSES THE PRIVLEDGE TO PARTICIPATE IN 8TH GRADE
