"There is an opportunity to study the bioluminescent organisms of Japan with a 2013 OC Biology graduate in the laboratory of Yuichi Oba. For this project, students may choose from a wide range of scientific tasks, including work with phylogenetics, molecular biology, biochemistry, bioinformatics, or modeling of gene systems of bioluminescent taxa. Your project will be contingent upon previous research experience and abilities. Please consider applying if you have had some research experience in these areas in a laboratory in Oberlin or elsewhere. Computer science majors who wish to work with biological data are also encouraged to apply. The trip may involve some brief travel to various regions of Japan for collecting specimens. Free housing may be available, unfortunately I am not able to fund travel to or from Japan at this time. The application is available on ObieOpps, and requires a short cover letter and unofficial transcript." darrin.schultz91@gmail.com
