Agency Name Public Defender Service for the District of Columbia Job Title Forensic Social Worker/Forensic Professional Counselor Job Description (including hours and responsibilities) Hours: 9am to 5:30pm Division Description: The Office of Rehabilitation and Development (ORD) provides the social work component of the defense in the representation of juvenile and/or adult clients. ORD helps staff attorneys and attorneys practicing under the Criminal Justice Act (CJA) develop least restrictive, individualized sentencing and rehabilitation plans for clients, casebased counseling, case management, and collaboration with juvenile justice agencies and other parties working with child(ren). Job Location Washington, DC Salary Range $63,722 to $99,296 Qualifications Qualification Requirements: A Masters Degree or higher in Social Work, Counseling, or Psychology with a Social Work or Professional Counselor license in DC. Four years of post-graduate professional or advanced experience as social worker/case manager or other comparable experience. Excellent verbal, written, computer, and communication skills. Spanish-speaking applicants are highly desired. Other Requirements: Incumbent must have no convictions as defined in DC Code Section 14.305 (b) (1) (Impeachment by evidence of conviction of crime).
