Friends of Ironmen Football Meeting Minutes Monday January 12, 2015 President Lucilia Kennedy called the meeting to order; Karen Pratt seconded the motion Introductions – 2015 FOIF Board o President: Lucilia Kennedy o Vice President: Stacey Hirsch o Treasurer: Karen Bussone o Secretary: Wendy LeCompte 2015 Budget (Karen Bussone) o Karen distributed and reviewed the proposed 2015 budget o Proposed additional detailed breakdown of expense items and adding $900 budget item for paint for ‘N’ on field (this was taken out of Fun Committee budget last year); Steven Gregory will verify cost of the paint. o Final 2015 budget approval will be voted on at February meeting 2015 Cash Bash Grand prize o Agreed to keep the prizes the same for 2015 Cash Bash o Tentative date: August 22nd Volunteers & Committee Leads (see back page) o Additional volunteers are needed (see committee descriptions on next page) o Leads are needed for Concessions & Photography o Team parents are also needed 2015 Schedule o Wendy will add to website Fundraising (Karen Pratt) o Discussed and distributed Auto Motion fundraiser cards - $20 each (all profit), buyer gets 2 free oil change & tire rotation, free alignment check, and 15% off other service. Need to fill out buyer info card and return to Karen o Karen Bussone has class at IWU that is going to do a project to help raise funds for FOIF Other o Plan to buy hats for Senior players gift - to be given on Senior Night o Board is meeting with Coach Temples 1/15 to discuss his wish list and planning for 2015 season o Lucilia will contact Mrs. Maurer to see if a culinary class can make the Oreo dessert for Thursday night dinners o Lucilia has a request in to Iron Pride for FOIF to do the concessions for the Bloomington game Committees ADVERTISING/SCOREBOARD SPONSORSHIP: (Lora Wey) Responsible for securing and coordination of sponsorships for the scoreboard and website. This will include representing FOIF to the Athletic Director and other athletic teams involved with the scoreboard contract. This committee will manage any scoreboard contract negotiations and ensuring FOIF is educated on details of such contract. The annual Cash Bash fundraiser will be developed and implemented by this committee. COMMUNICATIONS: (Amy Davis/Wendy LeCompte) Responsible for working directly with the elected board and such committees to effectively and efficiently communicate the business of FOIF via emails/and social media. This committee will work with elected officers in securing updated and current rosters from the coaches. CONCESSIONS: Responsible for securing dates from Iron Pride that FOIF may work Varsity concessions. Coordinating volunteers needed to work the assigned games, using Sign-Up Genius. FUN: (Betsy Blanks) Responsible for coordination/developing ways to promote spirit for the Iron Football team, including working with current student body. FUNDRAISING: (Karen Pratt) Responsible for securing and coordinating fundraising projects to aid FOIF in supporting the Iron Football program. FOOD: (Christy Farnsworth/Stacey Hirsch) Responsible for securing and coordinating weekly Varsity meals, on behalf of the Iron Football coaching staff, and banquets for all teams. Responsible for coordinating with Team Parents for food and water distribution. The development and planning for end of the season coaches and senior gifts. PHOTOGRAPHY: Responsible for securing volunteer photographers to capture photos at games for each team/player. This team will help in the development of annual senior photo gift at end of the season. ALUMNI LIASON: (Andrea Henrichs?) This will include a group of Alumni Parents who are willing to attend select FOIF monthly meetings, and act as consultants related to continuing the traditions of FOIF and Iron Football program. TEAM PARENTS: To include at least 2 representatives from each prospective football team. Team Parents are expected to attend monthly FOIF meetings to represent their team. These parents will work directly with the Food Committee to coordinate and distribute weekly meals, drinks, and end of the season banquets. The Freshmen and Sophomore Team Parents will utilize Sign Up Genius to secure volunteers for home game concessions for these teams.
