FTIR studies confirms the formation of pure NiO nanoparticles.Zinc doped NiO nanoparticles are synthesized by a novel solution phase method employing microwave irradiation. The aim of this paper is to report the results of investigations such as XRD,VSM,PL,FTIR & SEM studies of Pure NiO and Zn doped NiO.VSM studies reveals the change the magnetic behaviour of both the samples. Key words: Nickel Oxide,Nanoparticles, magnetic behaviour,sol-gel method, microwave irradiation. The VSM studies are undergoing in IIT-MADRAS. We expect some changes in the magnetic behaviour of NiO and Zn doped NiO nanoparticles. In future our work can be extended by doping different transition metal ions with NiO nanoparticles. Acknowledgement We acklnowledge IIT-MADRAS for providing VSM facility.
