During questions in the House of Commons, Philip Davies, Tory MP for Shipley,
Yorks, he called for a debate on political correctness.

The deputy prime minister has called a tweet by one of his MPs "crass, stupid, offensive
and highly insensitive".
Nick Clegg was asked on LBC about tweets by David Ward, Liberal Democrat MP for
Bradford East, after the Paris Charlie Hebdo terror attacks last week.
Mr Ward tweeted "Je suis Palestinian" as marchers gathered on Sunday following the
attacks that left 17 people dead.

A Labour MP has been accused of xenophobia after complaining about the Polish staff
who served him a disappointing bacon sandwich.
Labour MP Barry Sheerman provoked outrage from some users of the micro-blogging site
when he said he represented the good people of Huddersfield, West Yorkshire, "not
Gdansk".
The veteran backbencher was accused of xenophobia after he used Twitter to vent his
frustration at poor service at London's Victoria Station on St George's Day.
He wrote: "Just had worst coffee & bacon bap in London at Victoria Station. Why can't
Camden Food Co employ English staff?"

Boy”
The Guardian - 21st May 2014
Alan Johnson's memoir of his poverty-stricken childhood has beaten Charles Moore's
account of the early life of Margaret Thatcher to win the former home secretary Britain's
top award for political writing, the Orwell prize.
The Labour MP's much-praised This Boy was named winner of the prize on Wednesday,
which goes to the book judges find has come closest to George Orwell's own ambition "to
make political writing into an art".

The Labour Deputy Prime Minister, John Prescott, has punched a protester who threw an
egg at him during a visit to Rhyl in north Wales.
The undignified brawl happened as the Labour deputy stepped off the so-called Prescott
Express campaign bus.
Television pictures clearly showed Mr Prescott aiming a left jab at a man after being hit on
the side of the face by an egg.
