Provide professional knowledge and expertise to undertake conservation work on the collections 70 2. Carry out research and treatment development as determined by conservation, preservation, and collection access priorities 5 3. Ensure the proper implementation of COSHH (Control of Substances Hazardous to Health) and other H&S regulations within own work area 5 4. Contribute to the management of Special Collections through monitoring of environmental 5 conditions and assistance in emergency planning 5. Assist in promoting and exploiting the collections, including exhibition work, participation in lectures, demonstrations and conferences 5 6. Keep up to date with professional developments and participate in appropriate professional activities to support service developments and innovation 5 Key accountabilities/primary responsibilities % Time 7. 5 Supervision of library assistants in preservation work (Other duties as requested by the Librarian) Internal and external relationships Liaison with internal and external groups, both organisational and individuals, to deliver conservation services, promote the exchange of information and bring in best practise.
