Dates (Semesters) Spring 2014 B. Methodology: The course evaluation survey was posted to Moodle for students to complete. The students were informed of the survey location, and they were asked to complete the survey online before the end of term 1. The survey instrument was a Likert-type questionnaire where the students were asked to rate their level of agreement with the statements referring to the lecture, book, exams and classroom as meeting the course objectives. The option of providing narrative comments was also offered. For the Spring semester, there were a total of 92 students enrolled in term 1 and 2, with only 33 students (36%) completed the survey. Reminders were sent to students multiple times requesting participation in the course evaluation. C. III. Evaluation Instrument MUST be attached to this report. N=33 EVALUATION RESULTS A. Course content enhanced knowledge of theory-based nursing interventions.. 12. The textbook was an informative, user-friendly text for the course. 13. Adjunct material (study guides, websites, videos, etc) facilitated learning course content. 14. Activities/assignments served as useful learning tools. 15. Summary of Narrative Comments: Comments relating to the course were overall positive. Negative comments include wanting one instructor instead of team teaching. Some positive comments include the class being very informative, and the instructors prepared the students well for clinical. One instructor was described as enthusiastic and excited about the content. Overall, the results indicated that the course was organized and followed clinical and skills lab very well. C. Comparison of current results with results from the last two course evaluations: In comparing the student survey with the previous one in 2013, this year the student response was again significantly reduced. Data was collected for both terms in the Spring 2014 semester, in comparison to the previous survey. However, participation was still again extremely low. IV REVIEW OF COURSE DESCRIPTION, OBJECTIVES AND CONTENT OUTLINE Patient safety is addressed in the content outline as well as health promotion and teaching. The course content is consistent with course objectives and reflects the essentials of baccalaureate education, the School of Nursing mission and program objectives, and professional nursing standards. There have been no revisions in the syllabus course description, objectives, and content since the previous report one year ago. In order the strengthen and emphasize the essentials of baccalaureate education, the course objectives and unit objectives could be revised to include language that reflects increased areas of patient safety, quality improvement, and healthcare policy. V. REVIEW OF NCLEX RESULTS Unable to compare this data. VI. STANDARDIZED TESTING RESULTS There is a positive correlation between course passage rate and success of ATI testing. VII.
