The following requirements are provided to you as the holder of a Road Use Permit (RUP), responsible for maintenance of this FSR. Pursuant and in accordance with Section 79 (8) of the Forest Planning and Practices Regulation, the following requirements, in addition to meeting any other statutory/regulatory requirements, must be addressed by the RUP holder. For permanent bridges and portable bridge superstructures, fabrication, design and construction drawings and specifications must be completed in general conformance with the FLNR Forest Service Bridge Design and Construction Manual. For permanent bridges and portable bridge superstructures, all steel, concrete and treated timber bridge materials must be inspected by the ministry’s designated in-plant fabrication inspector for quality assurance during fabrication in the plants. The holder of the RUP must notify the ministry’s designated in-plant inspector, well in advance of fabrication works, in accordance with the requirements of the FLNR Forest Service Bridge Design and Construction Manual. The holder of the RUP shall provide the ministry’s designated in-plant inspector and the district contact, name, email, phone number, with the bridge fabrication specifications, other bridge material fabrication and order information (consistent with ministry bridge material templates content) well in advance of any bridge material fabrication works. 4. Culvert materials shall be new and conform to culvert fabrication standards, as established by the Canadian Standards Association, Corrugated Steel Pipe Products, CSA G401 and Plastic Nonpressure Pipe Compendium, section B182.8 of the B1800 Series, that are applicable to roads at the time of the fabrication. 5. For major culverts and culverts installed in fish streams, design flow shall reflect passage of the 100 year instantaneous return period flood. 6. Culverts on fish streams shall be overseen by a Coordinating Registered Professional (CRP), with subsequent as-built record documentation produced by a CRP and submitted to the ministry. 7. As-built records as described in Section 77 of the Forest Planning and Practices Regulation, as applicable, must be submitted to the district manager no later than 60 days after completion of the bridge or major culvert or the bridge or culvert is placed in service and being utilized, whichever comes first.
