2015-2016 OCEAN LAKES MARCHING BAND___ STUDENT/PARENT COMMITMENT FORM There is a significant amount of planning necessary for a band of our size and quality to be successful. Please read carefully and mark your calendars with the information provided. Why Band Fees? Virginia Beach City Public Schools provides minimal funding for individual high school marching band programs. Funding for operational expenses must come from annual Band Fees and additional fund raising activities throughout the year by band members and supported by the Ocean Lakes Band Parent Association (OLBPA). Fees are non-refundable. Marching band/guard fees fund: guard uniforms, marching shoes, one pair of gloves, marching t-shirts, transportation, out of town trips, competition entry fees, instructional staff, field show design, uniform cleaning, meals before home football games and all other miscellaneous operating expenses. Fees Marching Band: $450. Marching Guard $450. The fees can be paid: - Cash Check A deposit of $150 is due by Monday, June 8th. This deposit is nonrefundable and it does apply to your entire fee. The total amount of $450 for the Marching Band fees is due by Friday, November 6th. Checks are to be made payable to the OLBPA and deposited into the band box located in the band director’s office or mailed to: OLBPA Ocean Lakes High School 885 Schumann Dr. Virginia Beach, VA 23454. The OLBPA is always willing to develop a payment plan for those who need it, but it is essential that this arrangement is done in advance of payment due dates.
