WELCOME
The end of the school year is quickly approaching, which means our school will have a busy calendar for our
children. As always, if you have any questions about the scheduled events and activities please check the website or
call the office at (330) 533-5959.
LAST DAY OF SCHOOL
The last day of school is Friday, June 5th. The cafeteria will be closed that day and students will need to bring a
packed lunch. It has been another great year at C. H. Campbell Elementary and we hope that you enjoy a relaxing
summer break. Be safe and have fun! See you in August!
FOURTH GRADE EVENING OF ART AND MUSIC
“DESTINATION: AMERICA!”
Our fourth graders will be displaying their artistic and musical talent on the night of Tuesday, May 19th. This
magical event will be held in the high school auditorium and will begin at 7:00 p.m. Our students have been
preparing all year to showcase their talents. We hope you are able to attend this great event.
FIRST GRADE MUSIC CONCERT
“BEAR WENT OVER THE MOUNTAIN”
Our first graders have also been practicing very hard to bring an evening of entertainment that will showcase their
singing talents. Plan on attending this event that is guaranteed to put a smile on your face and start your toes tapping
to the wonderful music. The program will take place on Wednesday, May 27th in the CHS auditorium at 7:00 p.m.
KINDERGARTEN MUSIC CONCERT
“E-I-E-I OOPS”
Kindergarteners will be performing the musical program “E-I-E-I Oops” on Thursday, May 28th in the CHS
auditorium at 7:00 p.m. All are welcome to come and witness a night to be remembered. The kindergarteners have
been working hard to put on a great performance. We hope to see you there.
VOLUNTEER APPRECIATION BREAKFAST
Our volunteers sacrifice an enormous amount of time to make our school a great place to attend. To show our
appreciation to these wonderful people for all they do, we will host an appreciation breakfast for our volunteers on
Friday, May 22nd. We will be sending out invitations and reservation forms soon. Thank you for your commitment
to our children at C. H. Campbell.
5TH GRADE ORIENTATION
On May 28th, our fourth grade students will receive a tour and short introduction to the middle school experience.
Permission slips will be sent home and will need to be returned for your child to go on this trip. The fifth grade
orientation is a great chance to help students shake off some of the nerves that come with transitioning to a new
school. There will also be a follow-up student orientation on August 25th for both students and parents. Details for
this event will be mailed over the summer.
4TH GRADE SENDOFF PICNIC
Fourth graders will have a special picnic on Monday, June 1st at Fair Park. Our PTO has been hard at work
preparing to make our fourth graders final few days at C. H. Campbell memorable ones. Special events will include
watching the fourth grade memory video, yearbook signing, lunch by Cocca’s Pizza, creating a sidewalk mural, and
many more.
4TH GRADE CLAP-OUT
Fourth graders will be clapped out of the building on the last day of school. Our teachers and students will line the
hallways as our fourth grade students walk out of C. H. Campbell for the last time at 3:25 p.m. Any shuttle bus
riders who would like to participate in the clap-out will need to make arrangements to be picked up on this day.
Fourth grade parents are welcome to meet students in the cafeteria to end their clap-out. Please provide a note if
you will be picking up your child on this day.
STUDENT APPRECIATION
Student Appreciation Day will be held on Friday, May 15th. Students will be treated to an ice cream sundae bar to
help celebrate. The PTO will be providing all students with an ice cream treat complete with any toppings they can
imagine. Once students finish their sundaes, they will be able to enjoy a little bit of extra recess time. Thank you
students for making C. H. Campbell such a great place to be!

LIBRARY NEWS
Thank you for a great first year! I can't wait for next year so we can do lots of other exciting things in the library
and computer lab. It is sad, but as the end of the school year quickly approaches we will soon be "closing" the
library. All library books will need to be returned to the library the week of May 11th. All lost/damaged books will
need to be paid for by the last day in order for you to receive your child's report card.
Just because our school library is closing doesn't mean the students should stop reading! Both the Public Library
and Barnes and Noble offer wonderful summer reading programs that provide free prizes. Please take advantage of
these community programs. Thank you for your support and have a great summer! I can't wait to hear about all the
books that the students have read.
