Technology Kindergarten – Fifth Grade Projects: When you first meet your other grades group members you need to spend some time teaching them about your assigned layer. Use the information that you found for your summary. Kindergarten: Microsoft Paint and Kid Pix Select animals that are in your layer then import black and white pictures of it from Enchanted Learning into Microsoft Paint. Then work with them to color their animal the appropriate colors. When finished they may go and create a Kid Pix picture of the Rainforest. First Grade: Graph Club Work with your students to create a survey for them to complete with the first graders. The survey needs to be something that is related to your level of the Rainforest. Topics such as what is your favorite animal? (*has to be from a list of animals that are in YOUR level). Then the students will perform the survey and display the information on a graph in Graph club. Also first graders are doing pictures of animals in their layer. Second Grade: Kidspiration Second graders will use Kidspiration to illustrate a food chain using animals from you assigned layer. Fifth graders will do the research to find a food chain and then help teach the second graders to use the program and all of its features to illustrate the chain. Third Grade: PowerPoint Third graders are creating a PowerPoint like an “I Spy” book. Each person will create a page of the book. You must teach your group about your level, what it looks like and what are some animals that live there. Fourth Grade: Tech for Learning – Clay Animation Find pictures on the Internet of an animal life cycle in your layer. You will teach your group about a life cycle and help them mold the clay to represent the different stages of the animal. Fifth Grade: WebBlender Plan a short lesson about your layer to teach each grade level group you work with. You will create a Webpage as a group on your assignment layer. All the projects from your group members K-4 will need to be linked or included in your Webpage. First Person Speech: You will select an animal from your groups layer and will write a speech as if you are the animal. What is happening to you and your home? What upsets you about the destruction of your home? Then you will create a poster for you to put your hands and head through that looks like your selected animal.
