The year-long fellowship is intended for scholars in the field of the Aegean Bronze Age/Early Iron Age who have received a Ph.D. degree in the past five years, that is, between May, 2007 and August, 2013. The Fellowship will be awarded in the amount of $28,000, plus up to $4,000 additional for travel expenses. The deadline for grant applicants is November 1, 2013. INSTAP only accepts applications and final reports submitted via e-mail. Please send one copy as an attachment, either as an MS WORD document or PDF file. Proposals should include a curriculum vitae of the applicant and two non-confidential letters of support: one from the applicant's sponsor (who should be a senior scholar) and the second from a scholar in the field. If the proposed work is intended to coincide with a leave-of-absence from an academic institution, a letter from the Chair (or comparable official) stating that courses scheduled to be taught by the applicant will be covered by someone with research interest in the Aegean Bronze Age/Early Iron Age should be included. If the applicant is employed, the proposed research should be done during a leave of absence. Consideration for the fellowships is open to all candidates meeting the stated requirements. Awards are made irrespective of race, gender, religion, national origin, age, disability, marital status, sexual orientation, and actual or perceived medical conditions.
