Lesson Summary
 Revolution and rotation are the two movements on the earth.
 The earth’s rotation causes day and night.
 The number of daylight hours changes throughout the year because the earth’s axis is tilted.
 If the earth’s axis were not tilted, all parts of earth would have 12 hours and of day and 12 hours of night.
 The sun rises in the east and sets in the west because of earth’s rotation.

Objective: Recognize the importance of standard time zones.
Identify the four time zones in the continental United States.

 There are four standard time zones in the continental U.S.
