9th Grade Report Card Night 25, October 2011 Dear Parent or Guardian: While it may seem as though the class of 2015’s graduation is in the distant future, the grades students earn from the very beginning of high school have a significant impact on their post-secondary opportunities. Like students, many parents find the transition to high school daunting, and at times, confusing. To ease this transition as well as your ability to monitor your child’s academic progress and offer support, the PTSA and the 9th grade team would like to invite you to the first 9th Grade Report Card Night on November 9th, 2011. We will begin the evening at 6:30 in the cafeteria with dinner and opening remarks. During this time we will share the importance of student success in 9th grade, as well as the academic supports Paint Branch currently has in place to assist its students. After dinner, you will be able to choose from specific breakout sessions on the following topics: accessing students’ grades online, working with the counseling department, PTSA parent tips for success, and reinforcing study skills at home. The evening will conclude with you receiving your child’s first marking period report card a day earlier than the rest of the school.
