I encourage you to take time to look at our church website & to sign up for our church Facebook page. In this age of social media, it becomes very important for the church to be right out there with the rest of the world putting forth the word of Jesus Christ.
If you have never checked out the website of the Adrian & Magnolia churches, you will find a whole host of things posted there. Each week the bulletin is posted here, the newsletter is posted, pictures of
VBS and other events are posted, and you can list prayer concerns here also. The address is: www.adrianmagnoliaumc.com
Our churches also have a Facebook page in which you will find devotional scripture readings & events that are taking place in the churches. All you need do is send a friend request and then Caryn
Harrington will add you so you can view Facebook accounts.
Facebook account is: Adrian Magnolia UMC

August is almost here and that means school is right around the corner. So parents are glad to hear the words because it means structure in life again, some parents will feel the pain of releasing their child to start preschool or kindergarten, students making the transition from high school to entering college are joyful and somewhat apprehensive. AND those of us that are adult students
(such as me) who are stimulated and stretched…sometimes stretched so tight we feel like a rubber band ready to snap. Growing up in school was always a challenge for me because I had to study hard to get my grades. So obtaining the A or B honor roll was an achievement in my life. School is also very much a social outlet for me as well because, as adult students, we are all there for the same reason, to learn from the best who generously impart their knowledge to us. BUT as a student, this time around, I was ready to throw in the towel. This class “Theology in the Contemporary Church” was way beyond what I was prepared for. It was if I had stepped into a Physics class without any foreknowledge; and if you know me, I have no
“love affair” with science and math. I struggle with both. This class was different…we were to grasp unto the Trinity and how it works in the world (along with many other things). Okay so I know that does not sound too bad but throw in theological terms that are used in the world of theology and the human head spins into orbit, the human tears fall and humility before God is my saving grace; and so on my knees I fell and prayed; and I did not just cry, I sobbed…sometimes uncontrollably. Through the grace of God, I “pulled up my boot straps” and said I am a child of God and I will survive. As I write this today, (7.28.15) I still am breathing and living the life that God intends for me…as a pastor to the churches of Adrian and Magnolia. Many of you sent me your thoughts and prayers and I cannot express how much that helped knowing you cared. The Adrian church pulled
together as the hands and feet of Christ and was able to help the
Ramona Klooster family as they walked through the valley of the shadow of death. I thank Rev. Art Miller for coming in and providing the words of comfort to the family during my absence and knowing he is truly a colleague in ministry with me. Magnolia also had some things to meet, as well, during this time of my absence and they pulled through. As I finish my time here, I want you to know without the presence of God and submitting myself to his will, I could have collapsed and said, “I give up” but that was not his intention instead he held me and said, “Get off your butt and do thisand I will be with you.” And so it was. I from now on, will remember the words from the prophet Amos, “Seek the LORD that you may live.” We have a oneness with God that other religions find strange; but as a Christian,
I hope you find that oneness with God and you come to understand that God is the power cord in your life and without being plugged into
God you are drained and useless because we live in a world that sucks our energy.
Our God is an energy source that lives forever.
In His Love, Pastor Kristi

Thank you to everyone who donated their time in any way to make the pork supper at the Magnolia UMC a huge success. To all who donated items: hamburger, bacon, potatoes, eggs, picnic tables, spraying of the yard, it was all very much appreciated. The supper could not have been a success without the help of everyone. Thank you again.
Magnolia Church Supper Comm.
Our sympathy is extended to the family and friends of Ramona Klooster. Ramona went to be with her Lord on July 22, 2015 after a lengthy battle with cancer. Her funeral
Service was held on July 27, 2015 at the Adrian UMC. with Pastor Art
Miller of Windom, MN leading the service in Pastor Kristi’s absence.
