1 Investigatory Case Study

To all:
Kit 102091 Sulllivan came back 4466- but was only one mutation from the 4466 South Irish signature
with 464d=18.
What is of great interest is that he has a long history of documented Eoganacht surnames including
Sullivan. This is a case study of interest because he matches all the 4466 South Irish STRs with 1
mutation, has a Eoganacht family history and surnames but is not 4466+.
He is taking the chromo2 test to find further evidence of his ancestry. Both Jim and Anatole will be
closely reviewing his results for the purpose of possibly reviewing the 4466 South Irish base haplotype
definition to be more inclusive of terminal SNPs other than 4466+.
Although I do believe that the South Irish base haplotype is primarily 4466+, a SNP does not define a
base haplotype. A base haplotype is defined as a group of people who have migrated and formed a
community, culture and common history.
We believe that members with Eoganacht surnames and ancestry that are within few mutations from the
4466 base haplogroup will possibly split up the high level SNPs that are on the same level as CTS4466.
