We serve an immediate population of approximately 42,000 in Central Gippsland, and reach a wider community in East Gippsland and parts of South Gippsland in terms of more specialised services such as perinatal services, critical care and surgery. CGHS is unusual being both a sub-regional and an integrated health service, providing a broad range of primary, secondary and tertiary services, including a comprehensive range of HACC services, through to adult intensive, coronary care and level 2 neonatal care. Acute services include a full time emergency department, critical care unit, neonatal critical care unit, operating theatres, day procedure unit, and oncology and dialysis services in addition to general medical and surgical services and subacute services including rehabilitation. ManagerMedical Imaging MRI Supervisor MRI Radiographer CGHS Medical Imaging Department provides a wide range of imaging services including, general x-ray, ultrasound, bone density scanning, CT and nuclear medicine. MRI is also provided onsite 2 days per week via a mobile service. The department is very well equipped and boasts a 64 Slice CT scanner and a new gamma camera. CGHS also operates medical imaging services at Yarram and Fulham Correctional Centre. The medical imaging unit earns over $4M in revenue per annum and is an important business unit within the health service. The position reports to (Manager-Medical Imaging) who holds a delegated authority to the level of Department Head/Manager in accordance with “CGHS Instrument of Delegation”. The work context: The MRI Supervisor works in a multi-disciplinary team environment that requires the incumbent to interact effectively within Medical Imaging and more broadly with staff from other departments in the health services, external health professionals and agencies. The purpose of the position: Provide and interpret a range of Magnetic Resonance Imaging examinations for diagnosis and management of medical conditions for patients/clients of the Medical Imaging department of Central Gippsland Health Service and optimizing diagnostic quality whilst maintaining radiation safety. This will occur within the principles of care coordination, where patients/clients/residents have access to a highly coordinated health care and community support system. Create and update MRI procedures as required. Hold, or be eligible for Radiation User Licence with the Victorian Department of Health Hold, or be Eligible for Australian Institute Radiography(AIR) membership Required experience / other (not covered by leadership and technical capabilities) Have at least five years’ experience in Medical Imaging.
