Tuesday 24th February 2015 NEWS RELEASE Silver Success Story! Helen Drye never thought that her jewellery-making hobby would take off enough to become her business. But unlike so many who just dream of turning their passion, into something that also earns them an income and a better work–life balance, Helen made the leap in 2012 and decided to focus solely on her Silver jewellery business. Having come from a background in the public sector, Helen found that designing jewellery gave her the creative outlet she needed and soon found that this was where her true passion lay. She now has her creative designs on sale in the Bath House at RHS Harlow Carr (from 24th February to 15th March 2015) as part of the ‘Let’s get Creative’ exhibition organised by ‘Just Makers’ for this prestigious attraction. This is the first exhibition of 2015 for RHS Harlow Carr, originally founded in 1946, and is housed in its’ beautiful Bathhouse, as it was also once a spa back in the 1800’s! All of the Just Maker’s exhibitions will feature arts and crafts and give visitors to Harlow Carr the opportunity to buy original, handmade items, as well as meet the people who make them and enjoy craft demonstrations. Helen will be doing jewellery making demonstrations there on the 5th and 12th February. Helen has also been selected to take part in the 15th annual York Open Studios during two spring weekends in April. Representing some of the best artists and makers living or working within a tenmile radius of the city, each year York Open Studios selects from applicants to provide an opportunity for the public to visit artists' studios and exhibitions. The Silver & Stone Jewellery Studio will be open to the public on 18th/19th and 25/26th April 2015. “I’m so excited and honoured to be part of this years’ York Open Studios” enthused Helen; “It’ll give me the chance to talk to and share my silver knowledge with the local and wider community. With studios, workshops and exhibitions open in and around the city, York Open Studios has certainly become a major event, one I’m very proud to be associated with!” And if you can’t make it to Harlow Carr or to one of the York Open Studio weekends, Helen’s jewellery is also now available in Kitty Elisse, in Finkle Street, Selby as well as The Cooper Gallery in Barnsley; who are stocking a range of Silver & Stone’s bridal jewellery and tiara in their stunning gallery and wedding venue!
