HUMAN & LANDSCAPE: Geographical approach
in the Prehistoric archaeology
February 3 – 5, 2016, Kyiv, Ukraine
We are pleased to invite you to the scientific conference “HUMAN & LANDSCAPE:
Geographical approach in the Prehistoric archaeology”. The conference will take place
on February 3-5, 2016 at the Department of Archaeology and Museum Studies,
Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv.
Topics cover issues of interaction between the environment and societies of Prehistoric
Age: climate and landscape, natural resources, flora and fauna as factors of the
development of humans’ culture on the territory of Europe. Problems chronologically
cover the period from the Paleolithic - up to the Bronze Age.
The conference will be divided into thematic blocks, namely:
1. Theory, methods and history of spatial archaeology.
2. The interaction between nature and society in Prehistoric Age:
- the Paleolithic hunters-gatherers’ societies;
- cultural adaptation to natural conditions in the Mesolithic;
- dissemination processes of reproductive forms of economy in the
Neolithic – Chalcolithic;
- development of agricultural and pastoral cultures of early Bronze Age.
3. The local group in a natural environment (settlements, dwellings,
culture of household)
Conference languages: Ukrainian and English.
Registration form for the conference should be sent before November 30, 2015 to
e-mail: human.and.lansdcape.2016@gmail.com. Together with the registration form
also should be submitted an extended summary of the report in English and Ukrainian
(*doc). The costs of the travel expenses, accommodation and food remain by the
participant. Organizing Committee will provide low-cost housing in Kyiv and will help
with the organization of domestic issues.
By the conferences materials expected to publish collection of articles. Please note that
the conference organizing committee reserves the right not to include articles to the
book, if it does not match the theme of the conference and its requirements.
Materials submitted as follows: file type - Word document (* .doc); font - Times New
Roman; size 14; 1.5 line spacing. The top and bottom margins - 2.5 cm; left margin - 3
cm, right margin - 1.5 cm; indent (paragraph) - 1.25 cm. The title is given in bold above
the title - author's name (s), name of organization and city. Volume – above 10-15 A4
pages excluding illustrations. List of references should be organized by APA style. An
example can be found at the link - http://library.flcc.edu/APA_FLCC.pdf . Illustrations
should be placed on the A4 in jpg, or tiff format with minimal permission of 300 dpi
without compression. Photo in case of submission in the illustrations should be
contrasting. Text and illustrative materials should be submitted in separate files. Article
Submission Deadline - February 1, 2016. Materials should be sent to e-mail
