16th Annual Student Paper Competition
CALL FOR PAPERS
St. John’s, Newfoundland, October 4-7, 2012
Graduate and undergraduate students* are invited to submit abstracts for twenty-minute papers
on any topic related to historical archaeology in the northeastern United States and the eastern
provinces of Canada. Papers will be judged by a panel of scholars to be drawn from the fields of
historical archaeology and anthropology, history, material culture, and American Studies.
Students are required to present their papers at the meeting and submit a copy of the finished
paper, with references, to Nancy Brighton at njbrighton@yahoo.com not later than September
20, 2012. The judges will base their decision on the content of the paper, the student’s
presentation, and contribution to the field of historical archaeology. The winner will receive a
certificate of award, a cash prize, a year’s membership in CNEHA and publication of their paper
in Northeast Historical Archaeology.
