Diss CC Committee Meeting
Minutes
19th November, 2015
Attended-: Val, Paul, Jon, Ken, Simon, Mick, Bob, Steph, Ashley Thompson, Ian Nixon and Angus
Apologies-: Neil, Bob and Sean
Absent -:
Approval of Minutes -: October minutes approved.
Matters Arising-:
i) Neil is making progress with the Diss Cyclothon
ii) Rapid movement forward with the Scottow Enterprise Park venue, Ken has viewed the
venue and reports in good favour, There is plenty of scope for hosting different none
motorised cycle-based events
iii) Tri Athlon England Affiliation -£105 annual fee. The Diss CC name will remain unchanged, but
we will need to appoint a welfare officer.
Club Dinner-:
i) 23rd January, 16 people so far have said they are coming
ii) It was discussed who the speaker might be
iii) Some members have applied for trophies
Finances-: We have £5215 available funds.
Membership -: Simon reports that John Musgrove is arranging membership cards for next year.
Captains-:
i) Road Race - Ian
ii) TT - Ashley
iii) Triathlon – Angus
The committee’s views on the scope of the roll of Captains:i)

Encourage club members to take part
Report progress and results to Neil Collins for publication on the club website
Coordinate member entries into events
Funding will be made available and discussions were had over the guidance for funding, the
funding value of £100-£200 per group will be made available
v) Club colours must be worn.
Clothing-:
i) Steph reported an order has been placed to be received mid-December
ii) Some items of old kit and one item of new stock available. £175 raised for club funds
iii) New garments have been ordered for sizing purposes.
iv) Steph will contact the supplier re the document to show the kit design and colours.
v) The club will absorb the post and packaging charge for the order.
Club activities-:
i) MTB is proving to be very popular
ii) Road Club runs are subsequently lower
iii) Mid-week rides are still happening regularly
Open 25 TT 3rd April 2016-:
i) Mick reports that all is in order for next seasons 25 TT open event, 3rd April 2016.
ii) Mick has submitted the Club events 2016 calendar
AOB-:
i)
Ken has presented information and proposals for a timing chip system that will be used for
judging road races.
ii) Simon asked for some new DVD’s for the turbo nights.
iii) Steph reported that David Bavin is proposing a ‘Dirty Weekend Event’ and has asked if Diss
CC could contribute data to the site.
iv) M ick has spoken to Steve Rumbalow about a retro- sportive to take place at the same
weekend as our September Old Buckenham crit’
